After a rocky history of ups and downs, plans to restore the neglected Centurion lake are close to being finalised.
That was the word this week from ward 78 councillor Peter Sutton.
He said details could not be disclosed at this stage.
“After consulting with the Tshwane metro and the Centurion mall management, we agreed to make an announcement as soon as everything is in writing.”
Sutton said some preparatory work had already been done.

Earlier, he raised hopes that the renovation would bring a water organ and a park for the public to enjoy.
He, however, made it clear that it was not viable to restore the lake next to the Centurion mall to its full former glory.
In its heyday, the lake in the Hennops rivier was a popular attraction and a favourite venue for entertainers.
Earlier indications were that the lake in its former guise would remain history, but that the river and its banks would be spruced up.
A realistic prospect appeared to a public park along the river and efforts to bring an end to the pollution of the river.
