
Two people were killed during a suspected mob justice incident in Erasmia.
The alleged incident happened at the Mooiplaas informal settlement on Monday morning.
Police were alerted to the incident at around 1:30, said spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe.
“Upon arrival, they (police) found two men aged between 27 and 28 lying on a soccer field.
“The two were beaten to death and next to them were stones and bottles,” she said.
Selepe said the motive for the killing was unknown.

“We urge and appeal to the members of the community at large not to take the law into their own hands,” Selepe said.
“The community must please report any suspected criminal activity and alleged crimes to the police.”
No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
