NEWSFLASH: Man killed, girl wounded in Olievenhoutbosch shooting

Information emerged that during the shooting, a six-year-old girl was allegedly hit by a stray bullet.

A man was killed and a six-year-old girl wounded during a shooting incident in Olievenhoutbosch on Tuesday night.

Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said this happened on the corner Kiaat and Wild Peach streets in extension 21 shortly after 19:00.

“The local police were informed about the shooting, and upon arrival, they found that the victim (man) had sustained bullet wounds on his upper body,” he said.

“He was declared dead by paramedics.”

Moloto said shortly thereafter, information emerged that during the shooting,  a six-year-old girl was allegedly hit by a stray bullet.

“She was hit in her right leg and was rushed to hospital for further medical treatment.

“No one has been arrested yet and the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects,” he said.
