Bakery truck robberies are on the rise in Soshanguve, police warned on Tuesday.
This comes after a third bakery truck was robbed in block GG over the weekend.
Police spokesperson Captain Steven Maluleke said the latest incident happened at a tuck shop where the driver and his colleagues were offloading bread.
“A group of armed men approached them and pointed a firearm at the delivery men. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the truck before the suspects fled the scene,” he said.

Maluleke urged bakery businesses to contact the police.
“If the company feels unsafe making deliveries, especially in the early hours of the morning, they should call the police to escort the trucks,” he said.
“With the festive season looming, we plead with shop owners, delivery people and the community at large to keep an eye out for criminals.”
