
Three police members, arrested for robbing a diplomat in the Pretoria CBD, were released on bail on Tuesday.
The SAPS reservist and two community patrollers are accused of robbing a diplomat and his driver last week.
The diplomat and his driver were approached by the trio while they were parked outside a McDonald’s outlet on the corner of Nana Sita and Kgosi Mampuru Streets.

A police reservist in uniform and two community patrollers searched the pair and took them to Pretoria Central police station.
There the suspects took an undisclosed amount in euros from the victims before releasing them.
The diplomat reported the incident to the station commander.
Investigations started immediately and the suspects were arrested on Monday after they were positively identified.
Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the trio were charged with common robbery, extortion and the contravention of the diplomatic communities act.
They are expected to reappear in court again on 30 June 2018.
