Two men, aged 32 and 36, were arrested in the Pretoria CBD following a high speed chase that started in the Moot yesterday afternoon.
SAPS Garsfontein spokesperson Ilze Jones said the suspects had allegedly committed house robberies in Sinoville and Garsfontein before heading to the Queenswood area.
Police in Kilnerpark were tipped off by a young boy when they tried to break into a house in Garret Street, Queenswood.
Following this botched burglary, the men were then spotted in Waverley.
When they tried to flee, they were pursued by a private security firm vehicle as well as two SAPS vehicles down Parker Street to the CBD, where the black Mercedes they were driving crashed into a Toyota Quantum at the corner of Vermeulen and Du Toit streets.
Unable to drive any further, they tried to escape on foot but were caught.

Implements used for breaking into houses, several stolen items and an unlicensed firearm were found in the suspects’ vehicle. The vehicle was also fitted with false registration numbers.
The men will be charged with possession of a suspected stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and possession of an unlicensed firearm. More charges might be added as the investigation unfolds.
They will appear at the Pretoria High Court on Monday.
