Atteridgeville police have warned residents to stop taking the law into their own hands and meting out street justice.
This comes after a number of mob attacks in the area.

Police spokesperson Captain Thomas Mufamadi said the latest attack took place in Jeffsville around 19:00 on Monday.
“Police received a call and upon arrival, they found a group of people surrounding a body,” he said.
“A body of a man was found burnt beyond recognition. Big rocks and burnt tyres were found near the body.”

Mufamadi said the motive behind the killing was unknown.
“We have opened a murder case at the Atteridgeville SAPS. It is believed that the mob used tyres to ‘necklace’ the victim.”
Mufamadi condemned the act and called on for anyone with information to speak to police.
Last week a suspected thief was stoned to death by a mob in an informal settlement near Laudium.
