One of the three suspects arrested by the police on Thursday morning after a shootout in Centurion has died at the Kalafong hospital.
Three suspects were arrested in Trichardt and Selbourne avenues in Lyttelton after a shootout with the police.
Police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said it was unfortunate that things had to end in a crossfire and that a person had to lose his life.

“Although the criminals brought it upon themselves to start shooting at the police during a car chase, it still does not become an easy task for police to return fire.”
Miller said the two other suspects remained in hospital under police guard where their progress will be monitored.
“Their recovery is being monitored closely and they will be charged with attempted murder, the possession of stolen property and car-breaking equipment, and possession of unlicensed firearm, once they had recovered,” said Miller.
The incident happened early on Thursday when police chasing a suspected stolen car were shot at, and they returned fire.
