NEWSFLASH: North radio station manager gunned down

The motive of the killing was not yet known but police are investigating.

A 42-year-old businessman and local radio station manager was shot and killed in Hammanskraal on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said Jabulani Beeo Kekana was shot and killed at his lodge in Bosplaas East, Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.

The incident happened at around 17:00.

“It is alleged that two armed men entered Elanga East Lodge and instructed staff to lie on the ground and took their cellphones. They proceeded to room 11 where the deceased’s hands were tied and they shot him twice in the upper body,” said Moremi.

Kekana was certified dead on the scene.

“The motive for the killing is unknown. A case of murder was opened and an investigation is underway”.

Staff and the board of directors at Moretele community radio station confirmed the passing of their station manager on air on Thursday evening.
