How to report faulty streetlights, damaged roads

Recent rains caused a lot of damage to municipal infrastructure and metro efforts are underway to effect repairs.

Still battling faulty streetlights and avoiding damaged roads caused by the recent heavy rains throughout the city? Rest assured as the metro has come up with procedures to report the two.

“While teams are out, frantically attending to those affected services, we kindly request our residents to report the streetlights that are off and the roads that have been damaged that we may not immediately be aware of to enable us to urgently repair them,” spokesperson Selby Bokaba said.

“Many streetlights are off and some of the roads have been severely damaged across the city of Tshwane due to the recent heavy rains experienced that resulted in certain areas being flooded.”

Bokaba said faulty streetlights could be reported to either 012 358 9999 or by sending an email to streetlights@tshwane.gov.za

To report faulty streetlight/s, provide the following:

  • Physical street address
  • Adjacent streets
  • Pole number or the house number
  • Details of the problem

Damaged roads and other street-related problems may be reported to pothole@tshwane.gov.za
