Centurion resident concerned over lack of service delivery
“Uncut grass and bushes are a security risk and devalue our properties.”
A Centurion resident has described the lack of service delivery to the area as appalling.
The resident, who had catalogued the problems in a file of photographs, and wanted to remain anonymous, said overgrown trees, bushes, potholes were among the major concerns in Centurion.
“Uncut grass and bush adds a substantial security risk and assists to devalue our properties”
He said all this occurred against the backdrop of a major increase in property rates.
“From my observations property rates have escalated by 30% in the last 3 years –this is some 12% higher than the inflation rate and these continued excessive increases have to be questioned and stopped -there is no way that the Tshwane metro can continue to ask for higher than inflation-linked increases,” the resident said to Rekord.
“I have taken the time to document some of the issues I have with the metro, many of which I reported yet the status quo remains. Tshwane continues to underperform and cost ratepayers millions of Rands in damages and other costs every month.”
An enquiry has been sent to the metro.
