A power failure has hit Gezina, Doringkloof, Rietfontein and Soshanguve.
And Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo has blamed “another cable theft and vandalism.
He said cable thieves struck on the corner of Ronel and Karan Streets, this morning but “technicians are attending to the problem and it is estimated supply will be restored to Gezina around 18:00”.

“We are still awaiting an estimated restoration time for Dooringkloof.”
He said the technicians were investigating a power failure that hit Soshanguve blocks S, T, P, R and V.
Mashigo said residents would be kept abreast of further developments.

“All electrical points should be treated as live at all times.”
Affected customers are urged to report power failures by SMS., with the word “power” followed by account number to 082 612 0333 or 44676 or call 012 358 9999 or 080 1111 556.
