Justice has been served. This is according to numerous reports that Louisa Koekemoer and her husband Kobus Koekemoer have both been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of three-year-old Poppie van der Merwe.
An additional 10 years were added to their sentences for the abuse of their five-year-old son.
According to the Citizen Kobus Koekemoer, Poppie’s stepfather, allegedly kicked her to death at a farm in Mamogaleskraal near Brits on October 25, 2016, she died on arrival in hospital.
He was arrested in October 2016, and Louisa was arrested on December 15, 2016, after a post-mortem indicated that Poppie had died from a severe brain haemorrhage caused by a blunt object. Police arrested her when she told police a different version of what had happened.
