Mams learner to represent school in provincial competition
The competition was open to all primary and secondary schools in Mamelodi and Atteridgeville and was held at Laer Skool Kwaggasrand last week Friday.
A Mamelodi learner will represent the Tshwane South District 4 on the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Oral History programme.
Basetsana Mvukela (12), a Grade 6 learner Morakoma primary school in Mamelodi West, impressed with her “beautiful letter” about the life of Albertina Sisulu that won her the top position in the entrance letter writing competition.
The competition was open to all primary and secondary schools in Mamelodi and Atteridgeville and was held at Laer Skool Kwaggasrand last week Friday.
Basetsana said she could not have made it without the help of her teachers and sister.
Teacher Itumeleng Mkhwanazi, who recommended Basetsana to enter the competition, said she was very proud of the little girl.
“I knew she would win,” said Mkhwanazi.
She said Basetsana had a lot of potential and was a good communicator and leader.
Principal Johanna Kutumela said she was proud of the learner and the teacher who made the school very proud.
“The teacher took her job very seriously in assisting the learners in discovering their different talents.”
She said she hoped the win would further motivate Mkhwanazi and her colleagues to take their job very seriously.
