A man was shot and killed while his girlfriend was raped in Mooiplaas informal settlement near Centurion on Monday.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said this happened around 01:00.
“It is alleged that the victim and his female partner were attacked inside their shack and the man was shot and killed. The woman was allegedly raped in the nearby bushes,” he said.

Moloto said the suspects then ran away.
“Erasmia SAPS management is appealing to the residents of Mooiplaas to assist with information which could lead to the arrest of the gunmen,” he said
The motive behind the killing is unclear at this stage, Moloto said.
Cases of rape and murder are being investigated.
