The trio of men arrested during ongoing demonstrations against the self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri-led Enlightened Christian Gathering church are due back in court on Thursday.
Kabelo Tladinyane, Kennedy Nemoshongwa and Prince Gcaba will make their second appearance in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on charges of public violence and violation of the road traffic act.
The trio were arrested on 6 January after a series of demonstrations by the SA national civic organisation, of which Tladinyane is deputy chairperson in ward 58, along with community members following the death of three congregants in a stampede at the church.

17 other church members were injured in the stampede.
Gcaba and his co-accused are out on R500 bail each.
The accused, including one who has since escaped, were shot at with rubber bullets by police allegedly unprovoked.
The men were apparently leaving a tavern in Pretoria West when they were arrested.
Despite being shot at in the face and being a part of the demonstration Gcaba has since gone back to the church and asked for forgiveness from Bushiri, who is fondly referred to as “Major 1”.
Bushiri and his wife Mary will also be heading back to the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court following their arrest for alleged fraud, money laundering and contravention of the prevention of organised crime act in May.
