Another year has passed yet the three west of Pretoria murders remain a mystery.
And the families of the victims say they are desperate for answers from the police.
The mother of one of the victims, Marlien du Plessis, whose body was found in a field in Danville on 16 April 2015, said the family was despondent.
Denise Erasmus told Rekord: “We phone the police every week and they are now even ignoring us. I feel that we cannot go on like this anymore. We need answers.”

Erasmus said the family did not have the funds to hire a private investigator hence had opened a Backabuddy page to help with fundraising.
“I just want justice for my daughter and it is getting more difficult each day knowing that her murderers are still walking around freely,” she said.
Erasmus said Du Plessis’ body was found behind a sandy heap wrapped in a blanket and her shoes neatly placed next to her.
Erasmus previously told Rekord that last year an anonymous caller gave her some information about Du Plessis’ last moments.
She said the caller said Du Plessis’ killers had given her an overdose of drugs then raped her.

“They apparently wrapped her in a cloth and hit her with a rock,” Erasmus previously said.
The Pretoria West police previously said two suspects were out on bail since August 2016 in connection with the case.
Two other families are also looking for answers.
Hein Roos’ family marked the eighth anniversary of his death last December.
His wife Petra said Roos was shot dead in an attempted hijacking on December 3, 2010.
“We found his body next to his car. They shot him and left his car there too. He was heading home,” she said.
Hein was 31-years-old and was buried at the Zandfontein cemetery.
“We as a family are tired and have also made peace with the fact that my husband’s killers will not be found.”
“On the police’s system, Hein’s case comes up as ‘unnoticed’.”
Jury Hayes (40) was shot dead on March 2 during a robbery at his business, Toyco motor spares, in Soutter Street also in 2010.
A few minutes before Hayes’ murder, Pretoria Chicken and Meat manager Louis du Toit (29) was killed on his way to deposit the weekend’s takings.

His murderer disappeared with the money bag.
A suspect was brought to the Pretoria High Court but the case was abandoned in 2016 when a witness was killed before he could testify.
The police had not yet commented at the time of going to press.
