Twenty people were arrested during various police operations held in the Moot this past week.
Ten of these arrests were made during the latest operation, which was held from Saturday into the early hours of Sunday morning.
The police, local CPF and security companies were involved, said Pretoria Moot CPF chairperson Elsabe van Staden.
She said the operation, which included a roadblock, led to ten arrests.
“We once again sent out a message to the Moot community that we will not tolerate drinking and driving,” Van Staden said.

“Because of excellent teamwork, the roadblock was a huge success.”
Van Staden thanked all her “dedicated patrollers” and everyone who assisted.
“Thank you for your leadership, we appreciate each and every one of your hard work,” she said.
She also welcomed Brinant Security on board the operation.
“It is great to have you with us,” she said.
Another ten arrests were made last Thursday.
This as the Villieria police, metro police, security companies and local CPF also held a crime prevention operation.
Spokesperson Captain Coba Brits said they were arrested for various crimes, such as drinking in public, a pedestrian being a source of danger and theft.
Brits said it was important that community members become involved in the CPF.
“Residents need to take hands with us and the CPF to combat crime,” she said.
Brits said residents could also help just by looking after themselves and their belongings.
She said during the operation, it was observed that the number of job seekers in the area was also picking up, especially around Codonia Avenue.

“Residents are warned that if they take in any domestic worker, they must make sure they make copies of that person’s ID,” she said.
“They can also bring the person to the police station to apply for a clearance certificate to ensure he or she does not have a criminal record.”
Brits said taking in someone off the street remained a risk.
“The community must be wary if you bring a total stranger into your private space, this person can see all your movements and your valuables,” she said.
Brits urged residents to make sure that the person they employed was of good nature with reliable credentials.
