While the City of Tshwane is busy with the basic accelerated service delivery programme around Region 6, the residents of Mountain View Extension 10, Mamelodi East complained about service delivery in their area.
They said that the people they have voted for do not care about them and the last time they held a community meeting regarding service delivery was in 2016.
A resident in the area, Andries Tshabalala said Extension 10, desperately needed service delivery.

“The roads in the area has lots of potholes, residents are still waiting for their asbestos roofs to be replaced, speed humps, new electricity meter boxes, drainage system need to be cleaned and unfinished RDP houses,” were only some of the service delivery issues residents experienced, according to Tshabalala.
A pensioner living in the area, Elizabeth Ndimande, said her problem was the blocked drainage system in front of her house.
“We are suffering and the local councillor is not willing to help us as the people who voted for him.”
She further said the Tshwane metro did not bother to come and fix the drainage system.
Tshabalala further said the issue of unemployment was a serious issue and that councillor Nataniel Rabasotho Masupa did not care about the residents.
At one meeting, he told the residents that they would never get the opportunity of employment because they were not attending the ANC meeting in Ward 93.

Tshabalala added that the councillor also told them that if they did not vote for the ANC, they would never find jobs.
“Not everyone in the area is an ANC member and the residents are suffering just because they are not ANC members.”
The residents said the last time they had a proper meeting with their local councillor was right after he was elected; and afterwards, he disappeared.
The residents pleaded with the Tshwane mayor to visit Mountain View Extension 10, Mamelodi East and bring basic accelerated service delivery programme into their community because their councillor was failing them.

Furthermore, the residents said they have pleaded with Masupa to replace the old electricity meter box a long time ago as well as fixing the draining system in the area, but it seems like he did not forward their demand to the municipal offices.
Neither the Tshwane metro nor Masupa had commented at the time of going to print.
