Previously registered, can still make their mark

Not recently registered? No problem you can still cast your vote in tomorrow’s upcoming national elections.

With the 2019 national elections coming up in less than 24 hours, residents who did not recently register to vote in tomorrow’s election can still make their mark and cast their vote.

This is, however, only if you have been registered to vote in the national elections in the past few years.

IEC spokesperson Tsile Maswanganyi confirmed that if you have been registered to vote in the previous elections you will still be able to vote in tomorrow’s elections.

Residents who have recently moved can also still vote in the national and provincial elections if they still reside in the same province.

Maswanganyi said if a potential voter has moved to another province, the voter can also still qualify to vote hence he or she has voted in the previous national elections.

The voter will, however, only receive one voting ballot to vote in the national elections and not in the provincial election.

Voters have to take their South African ID along in order to cast a vote.

Maswanganyi said voters can send an SMS with their ID number to 32810 to check if they are registered.
