Thieves target salons in the north

The police appealed to local business owners to review their operating hours and avoid closing too late.

The Ga-Rankuwa police have warned that thieves were targeting hair salons.

“A few cases of robbery with firearms, of hair salons around this policing precinct, have been on the rise in the past few weeks,” spokesperson Captain Matthews Nkoadi said.

He said it was particularly salons which operated until late that were targeted.

“The owners are robbed of cash, vehicles and in other instances clients are robbed of their belongings such as cell phones and cash,” he said.

Nkoadi said the police appealed to local business owners to review their operating hours and avoid closing too late.

“Once again, people should report all suspicious activities to our crime stop number 08600-10111 or SMS the crime line on 32211,” he said.
