A woman was assaulted and a car guard was driven over during an armed robbery in the north.
The robbery happened at Wingtip Crossing corner in Dr Swanepoel and Kippan roads in Doornpoort.
“The two suspects pounced at the woman who had just withdrawn a large amount of money from the ATM. She was assaulted and had her handbag and cash taken,” said chairman of the Sinoville firefighting association JP Botha.

He said that the suspects then drove over the car guard while making their escape.
“Both the woman and the car guard suffered serious injuries.”
Medi-Edge emergency service treated both patients on the scene before handing them over to Netcare who transported them to hospital.
