Mystery still surrounds the death of a couple more than six months after they were found gunned down in their Akasia home on their second wedding anniversary in 2018.
“We’re still waiting for the postmortem results,” police spokesperson Captain Riana van Aarde said.
She blamed the health department for the delay.
“They usually take long, the waiting period can take between one to two years,” Van Aarde explained.
The bodies of Robert Rahlagane (48) and Mokutudi Jacqueline Mokebe (45) were found on their second wedding anniversary on 24 September 2018 in their Magalies Country Estate home.
The funeral programme obtained by Rekord, in part, read: “Robert turned a new page in his life when he decided to engage in holy matrimony with Mokutudi Jacqueline Mokoka on 24 September 2016 and stayed married to her until their untimely passing.”

The pair, however, had apparently already been dead since 22 September.
At the time of the discovery of their bodies, Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the couple were found in the house at around 10:00.
“Both victims had bullet wounds in their upper body.”
Dlamini also said a 9mm belonging to one of the deceased and believed to have been used in the deaths was found at the scene.
A murder docket was opened for investigation.
Estate manager Denzel Pillay told Rekord there were no signs of forced entry.

“There are no signs of entry through any of our platforms.”
“Our security guards will also not let anyone who isn’t a resident in,” Pillay said.
Residents at the estate apparently use a biometric system.
Pillay said the only way non-residents could gain entry into the estate was when let in by a resident.
He said fellow residents reacted with “obvious shock” to the news of the double death.
Further information obtained from the funeral programme stated the couple had seven children and three grandchildren between them.
Robert’s last known employment was as a project manager for an infrastructure and social development company in Mafikeng, North West, while Jacqueline was a process control and assurance manager at a state-owned company.
