Three appeared in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s court this week on charges of murder and attempted murder.
Police spokesperson Constable Simon Chokoe said that a man had died and three seriously injured in a brawl at Itereleng informal settlement on Sunday.
“Around 03:00 on Sunday, police received information from the community clinic after a man’s body was found lying in a pool of blood,” said Chokoe.

Three other victims were found with stab wounds to the upper body and were taken to the Kalafong hospital, he said.
“It is alleged that the fight broke out at Itireleng on Sunday morning which may have led to the stabbing but investigations are ongoing.”
Chokoe said the preliminary investigation led to the arrest of one suspect, while the other two suspects handed themselves over to the police later.
The three are expected to appear in court again for formal bail application.
Chokoe said the Laudium police were investigating the case.
Laudium police station acting commander Captain Colbert Mashile urged the community to report any criminal activity to the police without fear.
