Community helps clean up Wierdabrug police station

“We are planning similar initiatives in the future.”

Volunteers from the community cleaned up the area around the Wierdabrug police station recently.

Members of the public together with police officers, CPF members and various private security personnel took part.

The clean-up focused on the garden in front of the station, according to Wierdabrug police spokesperson Captain Agnes Huma.

“The grass behind the station had also become very long,” said Huma.

“Community members helped police in clearing the long grass by cutting it.”

The garden in front of the station was also given some much-needed attention.

Huma said it was not the first time that community members had assisted in keeping the station tidy.

“We are planning similar initiatives in the future.”

Wierdabrug station commander Colonel Samuel Makama also expressed his gratitude to community members for helping to clean up the area around the station.

“We would like to thank everyone who volunteered on Saturday,” said Makama.
