A case of murder has been opened for investigation by the provincial investigation unit, following the death of the General Officer at Air Force Waterkloof in Pretoria.
Brigadier General Motlhokomedi Kenneth Petso (53) was discovered on Tuesday after he was reported missing at the Lyttelton police station, said spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters.
She said his body was found in Garankuwa and identified by a family member.

“To this end, a case of murder has been opened for investigation,” she said.
“Investigators are not ruling out the possibility that he could have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped where it was found in Extension 11, Garankuwa.”
Peters said the vehicle belonging to Petso, a white Jeep Cherokee with registration DH-82-MM GP, was still missing.

She said the tracking device was recovered in Brits.
“Police are appealing to the community who may have information of the circumstances leading up to the disappearance and death of the senior officer, to report it to the police,” she said.
“People can also report any information to us anonymously.”
