A Pretoria Moot CPF patroller was injured in a “intentional” hit-and-run incident during a road block in the area on Friday evening.
Pieter Vorster was hit on the corner of Johan Heyns Drive and Booysen Street at around 11:30, according to local CPF chairperson Elsabe van Staden.
“A man was driving in a white Toyota Etios with a woman passenger,” she said.
“The moment the driver saw the road block, he intentionally ran Pieter over.”

Van Staden said Vorster, who did not sustain serious injuries, was taken to hospital after the incident.
“Doctors did a scan and x-rays on him,” she said.
“He must go back on Monday for a follow up.”
She asked for help from the public to track the driver down.

“Please keep an eye out for this vehicle,” she said.
“The vehicle will have a dent in the bonnet and a smashed windscreen.”
Van Staden said a case of attempted murder was opened at the local police station.
She said they were positive they could identify the driver.

“This is always a risk with a road block, but we will not stop in bringing drunk drivers to book,” she said.
“We want drivers in the Moot to know that there is a zero tolerance for drunk driving in the area.”
