Pretoria Moot police asked for help in identifying a motorist involved in a hit-and-run incident this weekend.
Pieter Vorster, a local CPF member, was hit on the corner of Johan Heyns Drive and Booysen Street during a routine roadblock on Friday evening.
“We are appealing to the community to come forward with any information that will assist in the apprehension of the occupants of the vehicle,” police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said.

He said the police were currently investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving, attempted murder and leaving the accident scene.
“A white Toyota Etios vehicle with two occupants – a man and a woman – tried to avoid the roadblock by speeding away from the CPF members, driving into oncoming traffic in Johan Heyns,” he said.
“The patroller tried to stop the car, but the driver hit him.”

Miller said anyone with more information should contact the police. He said information could also be given to the police anonymously.
Vorster, who did not sustain serious injuries, was taken to hospital after the incident.
He must return for a follow-up on Monday.
