The vehicle of an elderly man, who was hijacked in his driveway last Wednesday afternoon around 16:50, has been recovered.
Pieter Simpson (78) was attacked and then hijacked by robbers in his Môregloed driveway.
His son, Peter said the vehicle was recovered in Mamelodi.
“The radio had been stolen out of the vehicle and the car also had a bump on the right backside,” he said.

Villieria police spokesperson Captain Coba Brits confirmed the incident, adding that no one has been arrested yet.
“The police are investigating a case of hijacking,” she said.
She urged anyone with more information to contact the police.
Pieter told Rekord that he had just returned home when a robber approached him.
“I stopped in front of the gate, opened it up, drove inside and parked on my usual spot,” he said.
“Before I even had the time to switch the engine off, a man was next to me and opened the driver’s door.”
He said he had an overwhelming calm feeling during the whole ordeal.
“A wave of calmness came over me and I was able to maintain it throughout everything,” he said.
Simpson said the robber shoved him out of the car.
“He got on top of me and put a revolver next to my head, ordering me to keep quiet.”

Simpson, however, ignored this and screamed for help.
“After I screamed, the robber pushed three fingers in my mouth and pulled my jaw down,” he said.
“I used my hand and hit upwards so that I could bite him. He took his hand out and put the other in, but I did the same.”
Simpson said the robber took his wallet and cellphone out of his pockets.
“Shortly after, two others joined him, they got into my vehicle and sped away,” he said.
His wife, Annie only returned home when everything was over.
“When I came around the corner I just saw our neighbours everywhere and the first thing I thought was that something had happened to Pieter,” she said.
“When I found out what happened, I just started crying.”
Simpson was taken to Eugene Marais hospital.
“They sent me for X-rays because they were afraid that my jaw got hurt,” he said, adding he could not swallow.
“The X-rays, however, showed that I had no fractures.”
He said he suspected that his glands got injured.
Simpson had to get six stitches and he was put on medication for the next 28 days.
He is recovering at home.
“This was the first time that something like this has happened to me,” he said.
“We have only had about two small break-ins at our home since we have lived here. Overall this is a very safe neighbourhood.”
