The police officer accused of shooting and wounding a teenager will be back in the Pretoria North magistrate court on Thursday.
Constable Peter Makota allegedly shot and wounded a 17-year-old boy in his shoulder in April.
Makota was granted R2 000 bail on 25 April.
The police officer was charged with attempted murder after he allegedly shot the boy during an argument with a group of boys who were sitting across the road from where Makota stayed.
“The argument was over why they were sitting there,” Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson Moses Dlamini said.
It was understood a shouting match ensued between Makota and the group of boys before he allegedly opened fire.
Dlamini said the police watchdog was investigating the case.
The teenager’s mother Lorraine Botha said Makota allegedly shot her son as the boy was walking away.
