NOTICE: Centurion roads to be closed for SPAR Women’s Challenge
The three-hour race is expected to affect traffic flow between 14:00 and 17:00 around the stadium and on the route.
The annual SPAR Women’s Challenge will result in the partial or full closure of several streets around the SuperSport Park area in Centurion on Saturday afternoon.
The three-hour race is expected to affect traffic flow between 14:00 and 17:00 around the stadium and on the route.
To ensure the safety of the approximately 25 000 participants expected to take part, the following roads will be closed:
– West Avenue and South Street from the West Avenue entrance to the stadium to the back of the stadium will be fully closed from 06:00 until 17:00.
– Full road closure of West Avenue to South Street from Lenchen South from 12:00 to 16:00.
The following roads will be affected by the 10km route:
– Full road Closure of South Street from the 10km start to Lenchen South (13:30-14:30).
– Full road closure Lenchen S to John Vorster Drive (14:00-14:30)
– Centaurus exit / entrance at Olievenhoutbosch and to Makro (14:00-14:40).
– Full road closure John Vorster from Lenchen S to Olievenhoutbosch (14:00-15:00).
– Full road closure Olievenhoutbosch from John Vorster er to Jean Avenue (14:00-15:15).
– Full road Closure Jean between Olievenhoutbosch and Lenchen Avenue (14:00-15:30).
– Disrupted traffic flow Maroela to Glover to Sonja to Zambesi Street (14:15-15:45).
– Disrupted traffic flow Zambesi to Limpopo to Saffier Street (14:18-16:00).
– Disrupted traffic flow Saffier to Toermalein to Limpopo to Leonie Street (14:22-16:15).
– Disrupted traffic flow Leonie Street to Thea to South Street (14:30-16:45).
The following roads will be affected by the 5km route:
– Full road closure of South Street between West and Von Willich Avenue (13:30-15:00)
– Full road closure South Street between West and Jean Avenue (14:00-15:00).
– Disrupted traffic flow South from Jean to Clifton to Amkor to Gem to Opaal-Pretorius to River Street (14:00-16:00).
– Full road closure River/ Lenchen between Monument and West Avenue (14:00-16:00).
Tshwane metro police will assist with traffic control.
