Cold front won’t affect Pretoria – SA Weather Service

“We are expecting temperatures to be around two degrees warmer on Monday with a maximum of 25°C.”

Pretoria and Gauteng in general would not be affected by a cold front which swept through the southern parts of the country over Spring weekend.

This according to the SA Weather Service, which predicted gradually warmer temperatures for Pretoria in the coming week.

“While temperatures over the weekend were a bit low our models indicate they will increase on Monday,” said forecaster Dipuo Tawana.

“Only one of our models indicates a slight drop in temperatures for Friday.”

“This might be attributed to a chance of cloudy weather on the day.”

“There is also a very small indication of minimal rainfall on Friday, however, it remained too early to tell.”

Tawana said today (Sunday) would reach a maximum of 23°C from a minimum of 7°C.

“We are expecting temperatures to be around two degrees warmer tomorrow (Monday) with a maximum of 25°C.”

The weather service last week announced a cold front would be positioned over the central parts of the country over the weekend resulting in isolated showers and rain along the southern and eastern coasts.

“Meanwhile, hot conditions can be anticipated over the Lowveld and Limpopo River valley regions,” it said in a statement.

“In other words, there will be a marked contrast between the cold conditions in the south and the hot conditions in the north-east of the southern African subcontinent.”

Snow Report SA reported snow on the Swartberg Pass between Outdtshoorn and Prince Albert as well as the Matroosberg near Ceres.
