Repairs to Sunnyside burst pipe complete
The Tshwane metro engineers have successfully completed repairs to the damaged section of a pipeline that supplies water to Sunnyside and nearby areas.
Repairs to the damaged water supply pipeline in Sunnyside were successfully completed on Monday.
Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said some of the affected areas had water this morning,
“Due to the high consumption around peak hour, other areas continued to experience water outage. Residents are urged to be prudent when using water as the system has not stabilised as yet.

“The utility services department is monitoring the network for any unforeseen hiccups such as leakages and/or burst pipes. It cannot be said at this point as to when the water supply will be fully restored as this is dependent on how quickly the system stabilises.”
Water tankers were still deployed in the affected areas to ensure water provision to residents, Mashigo said.
Some of the following targeted groups were still affected:
• Sunnyside, Arcadia, Clydesdale as well as south of the Pretoria CBD
• Health facilities (Hospitals)
• Old age homes
• Embassies
