West resident opens her heart

Booysens resident Kleintjie Janse van Rensburg, along with local ward councillor, Frik van Wyk handed out knee blankets and sweets to the less fortunate.

A resident of the west of Pretoria recently opened her heart for the less fortunate – and she plans to do more.

“It was a privilege for me to be able to do the work that I am passionate about,” said Booysens resident Kleintjie Janse van Rensburg.

Janse van Rensburg, with local ward councillor, Frik van Wyk, handed out lap blankets to two old age homes in the area.

The blankets were given to Beterskap and Wag ’n Bietjie old age homes whose residents also received sweets and chips at the block of flats near the Holy Cross home.

She said 83 blankets and 120 packets made up of sweets and chips were handed out.

Janse van Rensburg said she was able to make this donation thanks to sponsors.

“I really appreciate their effort and help,” she said.

“While there are so many people without work, there are many wonderful people, like my sponsors, who do good work for others.”

Janse van Rensburg said her work did not end there.

She also planned to make up packets of sweets that will be handed out to nursery schools in Malusi informal settlement.
