Unidentified west man found dead in field

The man allegedly suffered a fatal head wound and was declared dead on scene.

The body of an unidentified man believed to be in his late 50s was found in a veld in Kameeldrift West in the west of Pretoria this Sunday.

A cyclist came across the body early in the morning and immediately phoned the police, according to Sector 4 CPF spokesperson Ricky Louw.

The man reportedly suffered a fatal head wound and was declared dead on the scene.

“We want to urge the public to keep their own safety in mind and not go walking at the veld after sunset,” said Louw.

“Incidents like these that could be prevented.”

Captain Bonginkosi Msimango confirmed that an inquest docket was opened and was being investigated.
