Daspoort family in dark over biker’s death
“He was an avid biker and was part of the local Coded Motorcycle Club. His motorcycle was his whole life.”
The family members of a 21-year-old Daspoort resident have more questions than answers following his motorcycle accident on Tuesday evening.
Herman Joubert died after the crash which happened on the R104 near Rustenburg.
“Herman would commute to Rustenburg where he was working as a parts salesman for a car dealership every day,” said mother Irene.
“On Tuesday at around 19:00 we received word from police that he had been involved in an accident.”
Details surrounding the crash are limited and the family aren’t sure what exactly happened.
“I wish I had more information on what caused the accident,” Irene said.
“We were told when authorities arrived on scene, they found no other vehicles and we haven’t received an explanation as to what led to Herman’s death.”
Irene said Herman lived for riding his motorcycle.
“He was an avid biker and was part of the local Coded Motorcycle Club. His motorcycle was his whole life.”
Irene said Herman attended Hoërskool Hercules where he was a top learner.
“He was loved by his fellow pupils and everyone who met him. We have even received phone calls from people staying overseas whose lives he touched in his career at the car dealership.”
“His Facebook page has been flooded with tributes from hundreds of people. We can honestly say no one has a single bad thing to say about Herman.”
“Herman was engaged and was due to be married.”
Herman’s funeral service will take place on Monday at 10:00.
The funeral will be held at the Reformed Church Bergsig in Mountain View.
