Pretoria Girls High opened 2020 with a bang on all fronts. The learners have already made their mark in the heart of Pretoria.
Inter-house athletics
Girls’ High’s annual inter-house athletics day was held at the LC de Villiers Stadium for the very first time recently.
In the morning, while the long-distance races were run, the ladies enjoyed dance routines from the cheerleaders of each house.

Cello and Saxophone camp
The Cello and Saxophone camp was a weekend that will never be forgotten! It started with a rehearsal on Friday at school. The rehearsals continued through Saturday at Klein Paradys caravan resort.
The evening programmes included some crafts. Learners made bracelets. The following day after dinner, the team enjoyed one another’s company while decorating cupcakes.
Buxton house relay
The Buxton relay team, consisting of Tyla Brand, Chelsey Adams, Bavu Mhlonyane, Bonolo Moabi and Tshowa Katumba, has been the winning relay team at the inter-house athletics for their age group from grade 8 all the way through to grade 12.
Ladies Northern Titans cricket
Aimee Perfect captained the U16 ladies Northern Titans cricket team and did very well in the tournament at end of last year (Northern Titans won 4 and lost 3).

Best Afrikaans and consumer studies departments
Girls’ High’s Afrikaans and consumer studies departments were chosen by the Gauteng department of education as the best departments in those subjects in the district.
