Morena’s road to recovery longer after injury

The 26-year-old player suffered a fracture and ligament damage to his ankle during a game between Downs and SuperSport United last month. The team clinched the game 1-0.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ right back Thapelo Morena is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the season following a horrific injury.

The 26-year-old player suffered a fracture and ligament damage to his ankle during a game between Downs and SuperSport United last month. The team clinched the game 1-0.

He was recently seen in crutches and with the Absa Premiership ending in May, it is unlikely that the speedy right back will be on the field soon

“I would personally like to thank each and everybody who sent me recovery messages. Special thanks to all the football fans from Mamelodi Sundowns, African continent and all football lovers.

“Thanks to the management, teammates and football rivals for the support, professional medical assistance I have received. I will be back and I’ll be back stronger,” Morena said.
