Doggy & Me walk gets locals active

The walk consists of three trails, a 2km, 3km and 4km trail.

The Idlewild Country Estate hosted its first Doggy & Me walk in the hope of raising some funds and to get people outside, enjoying the lovely farm with their furry friends.

“This was our first try, the venue boasts with unbelievable trails that is to be enjoyed by both human and dog. If you are tired of taking your dog to the same old doggy park or would like to hike at a new spot, Idlewild is the place for you,” says event organiser Elizma Driver.

The estate sits on a beautiful plot just outside Irene in Pretoria, with scenic views and fantastic farm life.

People from all corners of Pretoria came to complete the trail with their dogs, and opted to enjoy a well-deserved breakfast at the restaurant of the venue afterwards.

“We are still a small group that walk here, but we hope to spread the word and have more people join us on our next Doggy & Me walk on 16 May 2020.”

The walk consists of three trails, a 2km, 3km and 4km trail.

“We have a few older dogs that also need some exercise, so people usually opt for the shorter walks then,” Driver concludes.
