Stick together and play your part to help beat the virus – AB de Villiers
His former Proteas teammates joined in encouraging South Africans to stay home.
Former Proteas captain AB de Villiers encouraged South Africans to stand together to beat the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a video he shared on his Instagram page, the 36-year-old big hitter said there has been a feeling of uncertainty (on his part) about where this pandemic was heading.
“I feel this is a time for everyone to stick together and try to play your part by helping the world beat this virus,” De Villiers said.
“Please stay at home, wash your hands regularly and look after each other. I’ve always been a believer of trying to see the glass half full, no matter how difficult it can be sometimes, it’s good for your mind and it can make all the difference. Stay strong people.

Another former Proteas captain and now acting director of Cricket SA Graeme Smith also encouraged the public to do the #nohands challenge.
The challenge entails catching a ball with other body parts besides hands.
“It’s my duty as the Acting Director of Cricket to make sure that we keep sharpening our skills and improve our reflexes while staying safe. I’m challenging
Kagiso Rabada to the #nohands challenge.”
