Sunnyside police station closed as member tests positive for Covid-19

“The building is currently undergoing decontamination and the community will be informed once the police station becomes fully operational.”

The Sunnyside police station is closed after one of their members recently tested positive for Covid-19.

National police spokesperson, Brigadier Vish Naidoo advised the community to use the mobile service centre for the meantime.

“The community service centre will now be operating from a mobile service centre, which is situated on Leyds Street opposite the police station building.”

Naidoo said telephone lines at the Sunnyside police station will not be accessible until further notice.

People are advised to call 10111 for all emergencies and complaints which will be attended by members who are on duty.

“The building is currently undergoing decontamination and the community will be informed once the police station becomes fully operational,” Naidoo said.

The SAPS management apologises for any inconveniences that may arise from this.
