Woman critical after kicked by horse

“She sustained serious injuries and was stabilised on the scene before she was airlifted by Netcare911 emergency air ambulance helicopter to a level one trauma facility.”

A 40-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital on Thursday afternoon after a horse kicked her in the head.

ER24 paramedics were called to Equestrian centre in Midrand to find she was seriously injured.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Ross Campbell it was believed that she was thrown from the horse before she was kicked.

Paramedics arrived at the scene at 16:55 and found the woman on the ground surrounded by her family.
