Gauteng Covid-19 cases increase by 3 527 as total hits 75 015

23 889 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng stood at 75 015 with 23 804 recoveries and 478 deaths on Wednesday.

The department of health on Thursday said out of 37 962 contacts traced (individuals who were in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19), 23 889 people have completed the 14 days monitoring period, with no symptoms reported and they were de-isolated.

The department said 2 692 people were currently hospitalised in public and private facilities.

Breakdown per district of cases and recoveries:

– Johannesburg: 35 040 cases and 13 997 recoveries
– Ekurhuleni: 16 626 cases and 5 292 recoveries
– Tshwane: 12 216 cases and 2 901 recoveries
– Sedibeng: 3 400 cases and 643 recoveries
– West Rand: 4 827 cases and 971 recoveries

City of Tshwane 12 216 cases breakdown:

– City of Tshwane 1: Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, Winterveldt, Soshanguve, Rosslyn, Karen Park, Wonderboom, Akasia, Nina Park, Orchards, Amandasig, Theresa Park, Pretoria North (2 430);
– City of Tshwane 2: Hammanskraal, Temba, Suurman, Dilopye, Stinkwater, Ramotse, New Eersterust, Kameeldrift, Pyramid/Rooiwal, Doornpoort, Kekana Gardens, Marokolong, Randstown, Kanana (654);
– City of Tshwane 3: Atteridgeville, Laudium, Pretoria CBD, Hercules, Danville, Saulsville, Lotus Gardens, Pretoria West (3 889);
– City of Tshwane 4: Lyttelton, Eldoraigne, Waterkloof, Olievenhoutbosch, Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, Brooklyn, Hatfield (2 467);

– City of Johannesburg B: Randburg, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Greenside, Melville, Mayfair, Northcliff, Parktown, Parktown North (3 998);
– City of Johannesburg C: Roodepoort, Constantia Kloof, Northgate, Florida, Bram Fisherville (4 398);
– City of Johannesburg D: Doornkop, Soweto, Dobsonville, Protea Glen (7 469);
– City of Johannesburg E: Alexandra, Wynberg, Sandton, Orange Grove, Houghton (5 524);
– City of Johannesburg F: Inner City, Johannesburg South (7 225); and

The department said there were 355 unallocated cases within the district.

– Ekurhuleni North 1: Birchleigh, Birchleigh North, Bonaero Park, Crystal Park, Erin, Ethafeni, Kempton Park, Olifantsfontein, Tembisa, Winnie Mandela (3 394);
– Ekurhuleni North 2: Bedfordview, Benoni, Boksburg, Chief Albert Luthuli, Dan Kubheka, Edenvale, Endayeni, Esangweni, Itireleng, Kemston, Lethabong, Ramaphosa, Reiger Park, Van Dyk Park (4 087);

– And 40 unallocated cases.

West Rand district 4 827 cases breakdown:

– Mogale City: 2 568 cases;
– Rand West City: 1 068 cases;
– Merafong City: 1 097 cases;

And 94 unallocated cases.
