Local striker leaves SuperSport United
SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo described the striker as humble and respectful.
SuperSport United have announced the departure of their striker Thabo Mnyamane this week.
The 27-year-old joined Matsatsantsa in the 2016/17 season and has played just under 50 games scoring 17 goals.
In his four-season spell at the club, the 27-year-old helped Matsatsantsa to lift four cups, which include two Nedbank cups back to back and two MTN 8 trophies.
SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo described the striker as humble and respectful.
Thabo is a true professional and I really enjoyed working with him.
He’s a very humble, respectful and talented player, it was very unfortunate that injuries hampered his progress at the club. ?We will always cherish the moments and success we have shared together and commend him for the contribution he has done for the club on and off the field, he said.
Tembo also thanked Mnyamane for his contribution to the club. Fans also jumped in to wish the Bafana Bafana international all the best for his future endeavours.
Thabo Mnyamane is a great talent that spends more time in a hospital bed nursing injuries than on the field playing football, otherwise, he has been one of the best attackers in the league.
Doubt he’ll struggle to find a team, said Joewe Carter in a tweet.
Mnyamane is currently a free agent.
He is capable of playing on both flanks and also behind the main striker.
He joined SuperSport United in 2016 with a glowing reputation in the Premier Soccer League after first making his name in the Varsity Cup ranks for NWU-Pukke and AmaTuks where he contributed 17 goals in all competitions during his last season. Among Mnyamane’s honours was being awarded Player of the Tournament in the Varsity Cup competition where he helped NWU to a last-four finish, earning himself national recognition along the way.
He also scored during his debut for Bafana Bafana against Swaziland.
