Freezing conditions in Pretoria this week – weather service

Get your blankets and hot chocolate ready as temperatures are expected to drop to a minimum of -1°C and a maximum of 14°C later this week.

Pretorians have been warned to expect a dip in temperatures this week, as a cold front lands on Tuesday.

South African weather service forecaster Brandsdy Bulo said the cold temperatures were expected to persist until Thursday.

“Showers of rain have started in the Western Cape and Northern Cape,” said Bulo explaining the drop in temperatures.

“The cause of these conditions are the rainfalls, which have affected Western Cape on Monday, and are moving slowly to Gauteng with expected snowfalls on Tuesday afternoon, in Johannesburg.

“For Pretoria, we are expecting a low of 1°C and a high of 14°C on Tuesday,” Bulo said.

He said temperatures were expected to peak around 15°C on Wednesday.

“On Thursday, we are looking at a minimum of -1°C and a maximum of 14°C, with a bit of sun,” said Bulo.

“Conditions will start improving from Friday with a low of 1°C and a high temperature of 18°C, no rain is expected.”
