Laudium man arrested for murder following shooting
It is alleged that the victim (46) and the suspect had an argument which led to the victim being shot in the upper body.
A 44-year-old man was arrested for murder following a shooting in Laudium on Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened on 9th Avenue, said Laudium police spokesperson Sergeant Simon Chokoe.
“It is alleged that the victim (46) and the suspect had an argument which led to the victim being shot in the upper body,” he said.

After the shooting, the suspect drove off.
Chokoe said that the victim was immediately rushed to a local clinic but died on arrival.
“The suspect later handed himself to the police that evening. He was immediately arrested for murder and a firearm was also confiscated,” he said.
A murder case has been opened for further investigation.
“The suspect will appear before the Atteridgeville magistrate’s court soon,” Chokoe said.
