Drakensberg Boys Choir to scout talent in Pretoria
This is the only choir school on the African continent, being a boarding school that uses choral music as a significant vehicle for holistic education.
The Drakensberg Boys Choir is searching South Africa, including Pretoria, for boys between the ages of 9-14, with potentially great singing voices, to join the world’s best boy choir.
Worldwide there are a number of boy choirs, but the Drakensberg Boys Choir is unique in that it is the only choir school on the African continent, being a boarding school that uses choral music as a significant vehicle for holistic education.
The school (which opened in 1967) is nestled in one of the world’s major heritage sites, the mighty Okhahlamba Mountain range, and provides, not only training and performances in choral, contemporary and pop singing but also African folklore music and choreographed movement.

The school allows boys the opportunity to experience a vibrant outdoor life with cycling, swimming and hiking, integral to the curriculum.
Auditions to join the Drakensberg Boys Choir in Pretoria will take place on Saturday, 17 October, 10:00-12:00, at Glenstantia Primary School.
The boys will not need to prepare anything for their audition.
The mission of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School is to prepare boys for life and leadership through excellence in music, academics, physical development and social enrichment, in a Christian environment.
