Metro warns of water supply interruptions in parts of Pretoria north

Recent weeks have seen a spike in thefts of and out of motor vehicles.

The Tshwane metro has warned of possible water interruptions in the north of Pretoria due to planned maintenance work on major pipelines. This as major pipelines that supply water to Annlin and surrounding areas from the Wonderboom reservoir would undergo maintenance on Wednesday, according to Tshwane metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo.

“The metro will do its best to avoid interruptions to the water supply,” he said. “However, it may be interrupted from time to time for 12 hours on 14 October 2020 between 08:00 and 22:00.”

Residents were urged to store enough water for household use during this period. Roaming water tankers would also be provided to supply residents with water. “The Tshwane metro apologises for any inconvenience that may be encountered due to the scheduled work,” Mashigo said.

According to the metro, the following areas would be affected:

– Annlin

– Onderstepoort

– Bon Accord

– Grootvlei

– Kromdraai

– Pyramid

The metro has made several water pipeline maintenance repairs in the region over the past few weeks, among them, repairs at the Babelegi reservoir that took more than seven days which affected water supply in some parts of Hammanskraal.
