Three arrested after high-speed chase in Centurion
“The members were able to eventually stop the vehicle and three suspects were found inside the vehicle."
Three people were arrested when a high-speed car chase came to an abrupt end in the Centurion CBD area on Thursday afternoon.
Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said police were conducting hotspot saturation patrols in the area when they spotted the Toyota Corolla speeding through traffic.
“When the officers began to follow the vehicle, they noticed it was failing to stop at red traffic lights and stop streets as well as driving in a reckless manner,” he said.

“The police officers then activated their blue light and a high-speed chase through the streets of the CBD area ensued.
“The members were able to eventually stop the vehicle and three suspects were found inside the vehicle,” Miller said.
Upon searching the vehicle, police found the vehicle was fitted with false registration plates and several cellphones hidden in the door panels.
“The suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property, fraud and reckless and negligent driving,” Miller said.
The trio were expected to appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court soon.
