Duo nabbed with drugs in Laudium
"Upon searching,16 small brown packets containing drugs inside a carton were found,"
Two men were arrested for the possession of drugs in Laudium on Monday afternoon.
Police were performing stop-and-search operations when they spotted a suspicious man standing at the gate in front of a house on the corners of Primrose Street and 19th Avenue, said Laudium police spokesperson Sergeant Simon Chokoe.
“When police approached the man, he tried to run away but was caught and searched. Upon searching, 16 small brown packets containing drugs inside a carton were found,” he said.

Chokoe said the 43-year-old man was arrested for the possession of drugs.
In a separate incident that happened on the same afternoon, another man was arrested for the possession of suspected drugs.
“Just like the previous suspect, the man tried to run away when he noticed the police, but was unsuccessful. He was then searched and 13 ziplock bags containing white substance suspected to be drugs was found in his possession,” Chokoe said
He was arrested and taken to the Laudium police station.
Laudium police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Margaret Nkwane applauded members for continuous hard work and success.
